Fried Oyster Mushrooms
As part of my mushroom obsession, I’ve found that this is perhaps the best and easiest recipe out there. The prep time is quick, only four ingredients, and you can dress it up for different meals. This recipe is perfect for mushroom lovers who appreciate rich flavor and satisfying meat-like texture.
To break it down - In a large bowl mixing bowl add:
shredded oyster mushrooms
soy sauce
sesame seed oil
a dash of ground white pepper
corn starch
Mix well and make sure the mushroom pieces are evenly coated in cornstarch.

Corn starch is the hidden gem in this recipe because it gives the mushrooms a crusty, sticky texture, resulting in a meatier finish. While I aimed for a "Mongolian beef" style, the texture might suggest something different - you be the judge.
I ended up adding mushrooms to a noodle stir-fry, freezing the extra ones to fry later in the week for other dishes. The world is your oyster…mushroom.
Ingredients:
16 oz Oyster Mushrooms
2 Tbsp Soy Sauce
1/2 Tbsp White Pepper
1/2 Tbsp Sesame Oil
5 Tbsp Corn Starch
Oil for frying (I used avocado oil)
Directions:
Clean the oyster mushrooms and tear them into shreds of your desired size.
Marinate the mushrooms in a bowl using the ingredients listed above.
Once marinated, fry the mushrooms until they are golden brown and crispy.
Remove the mushrooms from the oil, season with salt if desired, and serve.
